Palm Springs, CA

As festival season returns to the Coachella Valley, a quieter dining spot in Palm Springs is getting attention from locals and visitors looking to avoid the crowds.

Located inside Casa Cody, the city’s oldest operating hotel, Harriet’s Bar & Lounge is being described as a “hidden gem” for food, drinks, and relaxation during busy weekends like Coachella and Stagecoach.

The restaurant is named after Harriet Cody, a female pioneer who founded the property in the early 1900s. Today, the space mixes historic design with a fresh, modern feel. Guests can sit outside near the pool, under shady trees, or in cozy corners surrounded by bright flowers and mountain views.

Harriet’s is open every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., making it easy for people to stop by at any time. In the morning, visitors can grab coffee or breakfast before heading to the festival. Popular menu items include avocado toast and smoked salmon bagels. Later in the day, the menu shifts to salads, small plates, and dishes like ceviche and charcuterie.

The restaurant also offers a wide range of drinks, including cocktails, spritzes, wine, and local beer. Coffee is served using a special house brand called Other People’s Coffee.

Even though it is close to downtown Palm Springs, Harriet’s feels tucked away. This makes it a good option for people who want a break from loud crowds but still enjoy a stylish setting.

With its mix of history, design, and all-day dining, Harriet’s Bar & Lounge is becoming a popular stop for those looking to relax and recharge during one of the desert’s busiest times of the year.
