Palm Springs, CA
The City of Palm Springs is inviting residents to a series of public meetings to discuss the future of the city’s mayoral position, as officials consider potential changes to the city’s governance structure.
The meetings are designed to give residents an opportunity to learn more about the topic, ask questions, and share their perspectives. City officials say community feedback gathered during the sessions will help inform future discussions and any actions considered by the Palm Springs City Council.
Residents are encouraged to attend whichever meeting is most convenient for them, and participation is welcome regardless of district.
The schedule of upcoming meetings is as follows:
Wednesday, July 22 — Citywide meeting featuring both sides offering opinions on the topic, with public comment and Q&A. 6–8 p.m. at Mizell Center, 480 S. Sunrise Way.
Wednesday, September 16 — Regular town hall for District 5. 6–8 p.m. at Cahuilla Elementary School Multi-Purpose Room, 833 E. Mesquite Ave.
Thursday, September 24 — Regular town hall for District 1. 6–8 p.m. at Palm Springs City Hall Council Chambers, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way.
Thursday, October 1 — Citywide Spanish-language meeting. 6–8 p.m. at James O. Jessie Community Center Meeting Room, 480 W. Tramview Road.
Wednesday, October 7 — Regular town hall for District 2. 6–8 p.m. at Vista Del Monte Elementary School Multi-Purpose Room, 2744 N. Vista Del Monte.
Wednesday, October 15 — Regular town hall for District 3. 6–8 p.m. at Agua Caliente Cultural Museum, 140 N. Indian Canyon Drive.
Monday, October 19 — Regular town hall for District 4. 6–8 p.m. at Palm Springs High School, 2401 E. Baristo Road.
