Palm Springs, CA

The Palm Springs Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a 70-year-old man who has been missing since Friday afternoon and is considered critically missing due to a recent medical issue.

Daniel “Dan” Michael Mulcahey was last seen Friday, July 24, at approximately 2:30 p.m. in Rancho Mirage, according to police. He is described as a White male, approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall and 190 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing beige shorts and gray shoes and is believed to be traveling on foot.

Mulcahey’s vehicle was later found unoccupied in Desert Hot Springs, police said.

Due to concerns that Mulcahey may need medical assistance, a Silver Alert has been activated to help locate him. Silver Alerts are issued in California to aid in the search for missing seniors and other adults believed to be at risk due to a cognitive impairment or other health condition.

Police said law enforcement personnel have carried out an extensive investigation and search but have not yet located Mulcahey.

Anyone who has seen Mulcahey or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Palm Springs Police Department immediately at 760-323-8116. Officials urged anyone who spots him not to delay in calling, as he may require medical attention. Anyone with an emergency or immediate sighting should call 9-1-1.
