Cathedral City, CA

The Rotary Club of Cathedral City and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will host a candidates forum Saturday, giving residents a chance to hear from candidates and ask questions about issues affecting the city and surrounding community.

The Cathedral City Candidates Forum is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Cathedral City Public Library, 33520 Date Palm Drive. Doors open at 11:45 a.m.

Dr. Helene Kalfuss will serve as moderator.

Organizers said the event is intended to let residents hear directly from candidates about their priorities and to become more familiar with the people seeking office and the issues that matter to voters. The forum is also meant to encourage informed civic participation, they said.

The Rotary Club and the Hispanic Chamber are encouraging residents, community organizations and local stakeholders to attend and to share the event with friends, family and neighbors.

“Community participation is essential to a strong and informed community,” organizers said in announcing the forum. Residents are encouraged to attend, listen, ask questions and take part in the civic process.
