CATHEDRAL CITY, CA
A new LGBTQ+ nightlife destination is preparing to open in Cathedral City on Friday, October 30, just in time for Palm Springs Leather Pride weekend.
Eagle Cathedral City, located at 67625 E. Palm Canyon Drive, will occupy the former Barracks bar property, which has undergone an extensive reconstruction to accommodate the new venue.
The operators have announced a grand-opening celebration beginning at noon October 30, followed by ticketed evening entertainment starting at 9 p.m.
A major transformation
Rather than simply reopening the former bar, the operators say they have rebuilt much of the property’s interior and outdoor entertainment space.
According to the venue’s official website, improvements include structural reinforcement, new plumbing and electrical infrastructure, updated air-conditioning systems and a redesigned dance floor.
The nightclub is planned to feature a professional sound system, large video wall and lighting for live entertainment and DJ performances.
Three large glass doors will connect the indoor space with an expanded patio featuring pergolas and an outdoor bar. Additional amenities include a pool table, merchandise area and electronic wristband lockers for guests.
Opening weekend coincides with Leather Pride
The venue’s opening celebration coincides with Palm Springs Leather Pride, scheduled for October 29 through November 1.
The announced Friday evening lineup includes Honey Davenport and DJ Mateo Segade, with DJ James Anthony scheduled for Saturday, October 31. The club is also advertising a Sunday afternoon program November 1.
The evening events on October 30 and 31 are ticketed, with admission advertised from $50. Schedules and prices may change.
Expanding Cathedral City’s LGBTQ+ nightlife
The opening would add another destination to Cathedral City’s LGBTQ+ hospitality scene, complementing established bars and entertainment venues.
Eagle Cathedral City is designed around leather and kink culture, but its operators state that the establishment welcomes adults of all identities and orientations. Guests must be at least 21 and present valid government-issued identification.
The operators also emphasize consent, guest safety and a policy against harassment.
With the planned opening one week before Greater Palm Springs Pride, scheduled for November 5–8, Eagle Cathedral City is positioning itself to participate in two consecutive weekends of LGBTQ+ celebrations.
