Peepas, located in the heart Downtown Palm Springs, is known for it’s clever and chic assortment of relevant items and gifts including men’s & women’s apparel, art, candles, birthday cards, and seasonal goods. It has become a go-to destination for Palm Springs locals and tourists.
The inherent brilliance of the store is rooted in the store owner Jeff’s ability to bring in goods that fit with today’s times. Jeff happens to be a gay business owner, who makes it a point to support other LGBTQ, black and female brand/artists. Many of the items in the store pay homage to current and everlasting trends embraced by these communities.
One strong partnership Jeff has nurtured showcasing current trends in pop culture is with local artist Chris Burbach, originally from St Louis, who now splits his time in Palm Springs. Burbach has been able to carve out a popular niche by sketching portraits of famous people on canvas using pop art block and color techniques.
Take for instance his sketch of the American sitcom classic, The Golden Girls. Burbach captures the essence of Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and Sophia exactly how we lovingly remember them on the show.
