I recently had the pleasure of attending the Shania Twain “Queen of Me” concert at the Acrisure Arena on May 31st.

The opening act was Hailey Whitters. Hailey and her band did a great job of warming up the crowd and Whitters performed a solid set. Most of her performance consisted of songs from her 2022 album titled “Raised”. The highlight was her hit Everything She Ain’t, which was very good. Hailey performed a very cool cover of She’s In Love With the Boy and she had the audience on their feet for her entire set.

After a brief intermission to set up the stage, the Shania show started. A big musical build up had the crowd looking around to see where Shania was. She had a surprise entrance and appeared in the crowd in the middle of the floor seats in a rolling cart, and opened with the song, Waking up Dreaming from her new album, and the crowd loved it! The cart propelled her up to the steps to the stage and she ascended the stairs and launched into her hit Up.

I thought Shania’s vocals were spot on and the graphics behind her on stage were movie animation quality. A giant “CALIFORNIA” graphic looked amazing and an old west street scene displayed “Palm Springs” in neon on one of the buildings. Pretty awesome and the crowd loved it. The graphics continued with stunning visuals throughout the show.

Shania incorporated her new songs with her iconic fan favorite tracks from over the years with You’re Still the One, Any Man of Mine, From this Moment On and Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under.

I especially enjoyed the way she interacted with the audience by bringing two fans on stage and singing with them separately. One of these fans stated that he felt like he was dreaming in an alternate universe! She also had a touching number where she brought multiple couples on stage each with separate tables like a supper club and posed for photos with each table.

She closed out the evening in her iconic leopard print costume with two fan favorites, That Don’t Impress Me Much and Man! I Feel Like a Woman. The Shania fans were certainly not disappointed and it truly was a celebration of all things Shania.

I noticed that the show was being filmed by multiple camera persons, so hopefully it will be released on video. I would love to see it again!

We were front center floor, 8 rows from the stage. I have to say that Shania still looks great and her vocals were strong and spot on. She did not disappoint.
