Local business, Roadrunner Print and Ship, has been selected as a recipient of an EmployABILITY Business Grant as part of the Demand Side Employment Initiative (DSEI) implemented by the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). These grants aim to support and encourage disability-inclusive hiring practices within businesses.

The grant funds awarded to Roadrunner Print and Ship will be utilized to establish a paid internship program designed to educate individuals with disabilities in various aspects of the Printing Industry, with a special emphasis on Direct Mail and packing. Each intern will be given the opportunity to acquire a certification in packing through an accredited program as part of this comprehensive training initiative.

In addition, Roadrunner Print and Ship is proud to collaborate with United Cerebral Palsy of the Inland Empire to develop a program that can be replicated in other businesses, facilitating the integration of people with disabilities into the workforce. Through this partnership, Roadrunner Print and Ship seeks to share its successful model and inspire other organizations to embrace disability-inclusive hiring practices.

Owners Bob and Ben Kincaid express their immense excitement in launching this transformative program. “We are thrilled to have received this EmployABILITY Business Grant from the California Department of Rehabilitation, enabling us to establish an internship program that empowers individuals with disabilities to acquire valuable skills and gain entry into the workforce,” said Bob and Ben Kincaid. “We believe that every person should have equal access to opportunities, and we are dedicated to fostering an environment that celebrates inclusivity and diversity.”
