Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City will present nine free tribute concerts this summer at its Agave Caliente Tequila Bar, continuing a concert series that has drawn crowds to the property throughout the year.
The lineup covers a range of genres, including hard rock, pop, classic rock, heavy metal, Southern rock, alternative rock and disco. Tribute acts will honor the Eagles, Michael Jackson, Boston, Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Killers, ABBA, Foreigner and The Who.
The series builds on a run of tribute shows already held at the casino this year, which included performances honoring Bruno Mars, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Billy Idol, Tom Jones, Duran Duran, Van Halen, Green Day, KISS, Tina Turner, Stevie Nicks and U2.
All concerts begin at 8 p.m. and are free and open to guests 21 and older. No tickets are required. The upcoming schedule is as follows:
- Aug. 1 — MJ The Tribute, a tribute to Michael Jackson, featuring “Billie Jean,” “Beat It” and “Thriller”
- Aug. 8 — Don’t Look Back: The Boston Experience, featuring “More Than a Feeling,” “Peace of Mind” and “Foreplay/Long Time”
- Aug. 15 — Ozzmania, a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, featuring “War Pigs,” “Paranoid,” “Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley”
- Aug. 22 — Skynyrd & Frynds, a tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd, featuring “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Gimme Three Steps” and “Free Bird”
- Aug. 29 — A Dustyland Fairytale, a tribute to The Killers, featuring “Mr. Brightside,” “Somebody Told Me,” “When You Were Young” and “Human”
- Sept. 4 — Boys of the Summer, a tribute to the Eagles, kicking off Labor Day weekend
- Sept. 5 — ABBA L.A., featuring “Dancing Queen,” “Mamma Mia,” “Take a Chance on Me” and “Waterloo”
- Sept. 12 — Headgames, a tribute to Foreigner, featuring “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold as Ice,” “Hot Blooded” and “I Want to Know What Love Is”
- Sept. 19 — The Who Generation, featuring “My Generation,” “Baba O’Riley,” “Pinball Wizard” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again”
The concerts will be held at Agave Caliente Tequila Bar, located at Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City, 68-960 E. Palm Canyon Drive, Cathedral City.
