Reality show celebrities Todd and Julie Chrisley from “Chrisley Knows Best” were officially sentenced today by a federal grand jury in their tax evasion case. Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years in prison plus 16 months of probation. His wife, Julie Chrisley was sentenced to seven years in prison plus 16 months probation.

There is no parole in the federal prison system.

The couple saw their celebrity status rise when their reality show, Chrisley Knows Best began on March 11, 2014. The show depicted a wealthy real estate developer Todd Chrisley with his wife Julie Chrisley living the high life in their upscale homes in Roswell and Alpharetta, near Atlanta, GA.

In the fourth season, the family moved to Nashville Tennessee.

Prosecutors said the pair used a film production they controlled to hide income from the IRS so that they would not have to pay unpaid taxes to the federal government.

In June 2022, both Todd, 53, and Julie, 49,were both found guilty on federal charges of bank fraud and tax evasion where they received their sentence today.

Their former accountant, Peter Tarantino, was also sentenced to 3 years in prison and is set to report to jail May of 2023.
