Storyliving by Disney announced Wednesday that six new dining and retail tenants will join Cotino Bay Beach, Dining, Shops, the waterfront commercial hub set to open in spring 2027 at the Cotino residential community in Rancho Mirage.
The new additions include Asada Cantina + Kitchen, a San Clemente-rooted Mexican restaurant serving lunch and dinner daily; Mojave Flea Trading Post, an experiential retail concept with Palm Springs and Yucca Valley locations featuring vintage apparel, ceramics and art from regional makers; and SottoSopra, an Italian restaurant from the team behind SottoVoce Cafe in Palm Desert and Palm Springs, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner including dishes such as ossobuco and risotto giallo.
Also joining is Big Juice, a Coachella Valley-based chain known for cold-pressed juices, protein smoothies and specialty coffee. An open-air marketplace overlooking Cotino Bay will additionally house It Refills, a sustainable refill shop for household and personal care products already operating in Palm Desert and Indio, and La Dolce Piccola Gelateria, a family-owned Palm Desert gelato and coffee shop.
“These new businesses reflect what makes the Coachella Valley special, from artisan makers to family-owned favorites,” said Claire Bilby, senior vice president and general manager of Storyliving by Disney, in a statement.
The tenants join previously announced businesses Elevare, Artigiano and On the Mark Fine Foods & Provisions. The destination, built around Cotino Bay’s Crystal Lagoons-technology waters, is planned to include ticketed beach access, though admission details have not yet been released. The site will also host farmers markets, live music and other community events.
Cotino Bay Beach, Dining, Shops is located off Monterey Avenue between Gerald Ford and Frank Sinatra drives and serves as the commercial center of Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney residential community. Homes in the community start in the mid-$1 millions, according to the developer. Future phases are planned to add more dining and retail space along with a hotel.
